I am Thilina Bandara Rathnayake; a computer science graduate student at University of Illinois. I did my undergraduate at University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
I am mainly interested in computational mathematics; especially in numerical linear algebra. Its an awesome combination of the two things I like most: mathematics and computer science. Also, I am a huge fan of air-crafts and love travelling.
During my sophomore and senior years, I was lucky enough to get selected as a GSoC intern at SymPy and had a great time coding for SymPy. I blogged about the work I did during the two summers here.
After graduation, I briefly worked at WSO2 Inc. and then worked at University of Moratuwa as a research assistant before joining U of I as a PhD student in Fall 2016.
Since joining, U of I, I have been working on running high order method simulations faster on state of the art super computers.
